Its still September & since most of the kids have been back for just over two weeks now.......
AOL's StudyBuddy Offers a New Twist on Learning
Excerpt: "The Internet service provider has launched StudyBuddy, a new search engine designed for school children.
The website offers kids information that has been pre-screened by teachers and librarians."
Its underlying search technology uses Blinkx.tv search "to retrieve query text and multimedia results from a database of 350,000 online journals, encyclopedias, and other sites that have been vetted for accuracy and age-appropriateness for children."
The premium service is $5 a month. Hmm....not withstanding any review of the product, its only $60 a year and as I remember it back in the day ;) parents paid a whole lot more for a good set of encylopedias.
